RobTop runs an open beta for Android and Steam before full release. If you want to test 2.21 features early:
: Infrastructure upgrades will drastically reduce the "sync failed" and "server down" errors that plague daily level uploads.
Currently, Geometry Dash uses simple AABB collision detection between the player icon and solid blocks. 2.21 would introduce Layer-Based Collision (Layer A, B, C) and Per-Object Physics Properties (bouncy, slippery, sticky, one-way, damage-only). Creators could assign different layers to different groups of objects. The Collision Trigger would now check not just “did I hit something?” but “which layer did I hit, and what is its type?”
The 2.2 update made the level editor incredibly powerful. The 2.21 update is designed to make those features more intuitive and accessible, addressing the "work" needed to make 2.2’s creative tools fully functional. geometry dash 221 update features work
Follow @RobTopGames on Twitter and enable notifications. The first 2.21 teaser could drop any day. And remember – in Geometry Dash , "2.21" might just be a myth, but the features we've outlined are real, working, and coming to your screen soon.
: Previously, a mod was needed to increase the game's framerate beyond its default cap. The 2.21 patches integrated the FPS Bypass directly into the settings for all players. This allows the game to run at 120, 144, 240, and even 360 frames per second, drastically reducing input delay and making high-refresh-rate monitors useful for the first time in Geometry Dash.
A platformer level features ice blocks (slippery friction = 0.95, bounce = 0.2) next to rubber pads (bounce = 1.6). A transparent damaging layer (hurt-on-touch) hovers just above a pit, but a separate “solid only for enemies” layer allows projectiles to pass through while the player lands safely. This creates nuanced platforming challenges without requiring thousands of individual custom blocks. RobTop runs an open beta for Android and
RobTop chose to split these features into 2.21 to avoid delaying the massive 2.2 update any further. Because the underlying physics engine for 2.2 is already live, the 2.21 update will require significantly less beta testing and is built on a much more stable foundation.
The new Swing Speed Trigger (found in the Trigger menu under "Motion") uses Swing_Speed = [0.5-3.0] . Set to 0.5 for slow-motion puzzle sections or 3.0 for chaotic speedruns.
Every time you tap, the Swing Copter flips its gravity. If you're moving upwards, a tap will instantly reverse your direction downwards, and vice versa. The "Copter" swings around its pivot point. This makes it distinct from both the Wave and the Ship, creating a unique and challenging flight pattern that requires constant, rhythmic tapping to maintain a straight path. If you're moving upwards
introduces multiplayer functionality. You can join private servers or automatically queue in public ones to race against others in real-time. The Expansion: "The Tower Floor 2"
The level editor received a massive injection of logic tools that allow for complex visual storytelling.
The introduction of Platformer Mode in Update 2.2 was a game-changer, and 2.21 is set to expand it. The current Tower has four levels (The Tower, The Sewers, The Cellar, and The Secret Hollow).

: This is the centerpiece of the update—a new Demon-rated official level featuring the song "Explorers" by Hinkik. It was originally intended for 2.2 but was moved to 2.21 to allow for more development time.
