In the early days of Flash, creators had to manually move every single asset on the stage to simulate a camera pan—a process as tedious as it sounds. Today, Adobe Animate features a native Camera tool that allows you to zoom, rotate, and pan across your timeline with ease.

If you want to keep certain elements (like a UI overlay, a character portrait, or a "letterbox" effect) locked to the screen regardless of where the camera moves, place them on a layer inside the VCam's viewable area. Keep them on a layer above the VCam layer, or create a container layer.
